"The bass on the pro-alphas are not as deep or booming as the skullcandy ones. But I do have to say that you hear more accurate low frequencies response. The skullcandy ones really tend to sound muddy and blur together the bass. The bass isn't going to be kicking super load, but you will perceive more accurate frequencies, so all the bass, snares, drums and other instruments can be heard. You will be able to distinguish all those low frequency notes instead of just hearing them muss together, which is what the skullcandy ones sound like.
The mids are pretty accurate, the overall sound is pretty warm in general. However I do have to say that where these IEM really shine is at higher frequencies at the highs and mids.... Switching over so the Pro-Alphas I can definitely tell the difference in vocal actualization. The highs are there and not mushed together. The mids are distinguishable and do not just mush together and sound blurred out.
...The bass loops around the left and right ear IEM and the distance perception begins to vary close and far. Listening to this part it made me realize how accurate these IEM are in producing a good sound stage, like you are at a actual concert. With my other IEM I could not distinguish the perceived distance and space very well. These IEM are definitely a step up."
"Nice IEMs for the price. I got these on a whim, to switch it up between them and my HD25s when I'm on the move. There is absolutely no way these are for bass lovers, mind you. They have less bass than the HD25, don't extend as low, plus they're not boomy. Quite nice IMO, as I absolutely hate overdone bass. The mids are quite forward and treble extension is very good, even though they're not very detailed and can seem lifeless at times. Soundstage is ok, but there's not very much layering, if you're into that sort of thing."
