The principle of this type of device is to use a digital / analog decoding circuit external to the phone, thus bypassing the problem of the progressive withdrawal of DAC chips in current smartphones. Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC

The Zerda is equipped with a Cirrus Logic CS43198 conversion chip, capable of decoding PCM audio streams up to 32bit 384kHz and DSD to DSD256. This chip has a high impedance of 600Ω, a dynamic range of 130dBA, a THD+N measured at -115dB and an inter-channel isolation greater than 110dB. The CS43198's architecture has been designed to preserve the integrity of the original audio stream and thus deliver a sound that is both precise and rich in detail.

PC & Mac Compatible

Versatile, the Zerda will work just as well with your Android or iOS smartphone as it does with a computer running Windows or MacOS. Operation is just as simple since you only need to connect the adapter to your computer to be able to enjoy the audio qualities of the adapter. The Zerda can be used as a mobile DAC with a smartphone, just as it can work with a laptop or desktop computer to provide you with high fidelity listening throughout the day.

Dual connectivity & Shielded housing

The Ikko Zerda has a single output connector, but can be used to connect a 3.5mm Jack cable or Mini-Toslink Optics to it, in order to adapt to your needs. The adapter housing is made of a high quality aluminium alloy with full shielding, which considerably reduces the impact of interference on the audio signal.

Optimized conductivity

The cable connecting the conversion circuit to the USB-C connector uses, like the rest of the adapter, high quality materials. Thus, its conductors are made of Silver plated OFC Copper for maximum conductivity and the assembly is shielded, in order to repel interference. The design of this cable contributes to the purity of the Zerda's audio reproduction.
